On November 15, Indy Parks joined Mayor Joe Hogsett, State Representative Greg Porter, City-County Councillor Vop Osili and students from the Center for Inquiry (IPS #27) to unveil the park’s new playground and other enhancements. Since April, the park has undertaken nearly $600,000 in updates and renovations, which include new playground equipment and a community shelter. Earlier this year, the NCAA Team Works Basketball Dreamcourt (adjacent to the playground) was unveiled.

Celebration & Dedication of the Holliday Park Ruins
On September 17th, Mayor Joe Hogsett, the Friends of Holliday Park and Indy Parks unveiled the restored structure, which originally opened in 1978 and has been off limits to the public for almost 20 years. The Ruins, the spectacular stone structure located in the park, have undergone a major facelift. Now restored, the Ruins area features a children’s water table, shimmer fountain, benches, an allée of trees and new gardens. In 2010, the Friends of Holliday Park launched a capital campaign to raise funds to renovate the exhibit hall in the nature center and revitalize and endow the Ruins.
