Candidate Filing

If you are interested in being a candidate for the 2011 municipal election, you will want to be familiar with the 2011 Candidate Guide published by the Indiana Secretary of State's office. Major party candidates follow a different schedule than independent and minor party candidates. Be sure to review the deadlines appropriate to your particular candidacy and be sure to verify whether you are required to file with the county or the state.

Campaign Finance

Campaign finance schedules vary depending on whether you are a candidate for statewide office or local office. Check out the 2011 Campaign Finance Manual published by the Indiana Secretary of State's office to verify the correct campaign finance deadlines for your particular office. Candidates for federal or state offices follow different campaign finance rules. Additional information can be found on the Federal Election Commission's Web site.
