North District officers provide uniformed field patrol and investigative services to the north central area of Indianapolis.  (See .pdf map)  With its headquarters building at 3120 E. 30th Street, the District is staffed with approximately 215 sworn and 10 civilian employees and is under the command of Major David Allender.  The District covers about 79 square miles with a 2000 population estimate of 221,716.
