Licensing serves the citizens of Indianapolis and Marion County by issuing and renewing 27 different licenses. We provide licensing services by coordinating with various inspecting agencies to ensure compliance with established State of Indiana Statutes and City Ordinances. We pride ourselves in maintaining the utmost in confidentiality.

If your license requires you to be fingerprinted, you must be in our office by 2:30pm.
License Requirements
You may apply online via the link specified above or print off the PDF forms and send in the completed application with a check payable to the Office of Finance and Management for a total of the fees required. We also accept Visa, MasterCard, or American Express. Fees are listed at the top right of each application.
Please call your Township Assessor to obtain your business personal property and real estate tax parcel number. All businesses are required to register with the appropriate assessor. By clicking on the link above, Township Assessor Office contact numbers are available.
Inspections, if required, will be initiated by our office upon receipt of your application and fees. Upon completion and approval of inspections required as set forth in the ordinance, a letter of denial or a valid operating license will be mailed to you.
