POSITION SUMMARY: Position is responsible for designing and maintaining computer system programs and web-based services for the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department. This position will also assist users with individual technical questions.
Establishes computer programming needs; designs computer programs; designs reports to comply with user needs; develops computer program logic based on electronic data processing input and desired output. Writes computer programs and tests programs to ensure accuracy of logic; develops and writes program instructions for users. Trains users in operations procedures for new/changed programs. |

QUALIFICATIONS: B.S. Degree in Computer Science/Technology or Associates Degree in Computer Science and two (2) years experience in software development. Must have knowledge of computer theories, methods, procedures, and hardware. Must have experience developing applications with Microsoft's .Net programming languages, with emphasis on Visual Basic .Net. Experience developing web-based applications using ASP.NET required. |

POSITION SUMMARY: Assist with the intake, processing, release, and disposal of supplies and evidence for IMPD. This position is also responsible for conducting presumptive drug testing on suspected narcotics. |

QUALIFICATIONS: High School diploma or equivalent. Two years of experience is preferred. Effective communication skills, knowledge of inventory control, ability to lift and carry supplies 25 to 50 pounds, ability to operate general office equipment and customer service skills required. A valid Indiana driver’s license is preferred. Must pass an employment physical. Must pass a pre-employment polygraph test, as well as annually while assigned to the Property Branch. Employees in this position are subject to random drug screenings. This opening is assigned to the middle shift (3-11pm) with rotating weekends. |
