Pre-Permit Plan Review
Starting November 2009, the Department of Code Enforcement (DCE) began reviewing design plans prior to issuance of structural permits for the alteration of, addition to, or new construction of commercial (Class 1) structures. This comprehensive review addresses construction, accessibility, land use and life safety issues.
DCE also offers Accelerated Plan Review to decrease time frames at any point in the process. Accelerated plan review is billed at a higher hourly rate, and reviews are typically completed in less than a week.
To avoid any unnecessary delays in review time, please submit your plans and permit application to the City at the same time that you submit an application to the Indiana Department of Homeland Security for a Construction Design Release.
