Project Description: The West 30th Street Corridor Plan was prepared to conserve and enhance existing community assets and to promote beneficial growth. Throughout the process stakeholders were involved in shaping goals, objectives and strategies for the corridor.  The plan serves as a guide for land use and zoning decisions and public and private improvements in the corridor.

Location: The focus of the proposed plan is the West 30th Street Corridor. The study area centers on West 30th Street between White River and Lafayette Road and the CSX Railroad. Part of Lafayette Rd. between W.30th Street to the railroad overpass is also included. (A map of the plan area is found below.)

Public Participation: Seven public meetings were held during the planning process with total attendance of over 200 persons.  Additional meetings were held with neighborhood residents and business leaders.

The plan was adopted in Metropolitan Development Commission of Marion County on Wednesday January 20, 2010 (Resolution 2010-CPS-R-001) as an adopted segment of the Indianapolis/Marion County Comprehensive Plan.

The adopted plan may be viewed or downloaded below.  Copies of the adopted plan are available at the offices of the Division of Planning.
