DMD provides limited data research and analysis support for community planning initiatives, but several online free resources are available to help anyone with data needs.

SAVI provides data about Central Indiana communities, tools to analyze and visualize the data, and training to build capacity for its use.  SAVI contains data relating to population, health, poverty and income, education, housing, race and ethnicity, employment, crime, and community assets.  A variety of pre-defined geographies are available or you can create a custom geography.  SAVI is a product of The Polis Center at IUPUI.

Stats Indiana provides easy, one-stop access to critical statistics for regions, counties, cities, townships, and Census geographies.  It has information on demographics, education, commuting, migration, income and poverty, jobs and earnings, employment, housing, and more.  StatsIndiana has additional data sets unavailable in SAVI, but it cannot create custom geographies.

U.S.Census American Factfinder
A very robust, and therefore more complicated to use, application that provides detailed and comprehensive access to all U.S. Census data.

IndianaMap
IndianaMAP is the largest publicly available collection of Indiana geographic information system (GIS) map data. It is made possible by an alliance of partners from federal, state, local organizations and agencies, and universities. You can access interactive web-based maps, select from pre-defined or customize maps, and download map data.
