Did you know Indy Parks has four disc golf courses throughout the county?Disc golf is played like traditional golf, using flying discs instead of clubs. The object is to throw from a designated starting area (tee) into a target called a pole hole, in as few shots as possible. One stroke is counted for each throw of the disc. The winner is the disc golfer with the lowest score.Why is disc golf so popular? - it's a sport for all ages and skill levels - it's inexpensive (the most expensive discs are $20) - there are no green fees!Indianapolis Disc Golf Club (IDGC)Indianapolis Disc Golf Club (IDGC) is a non profit community organization dedicated to promoting the sport of disc golf in the Indianapolis, area. Membership is open to anyone that is interested in disc golf and in serving their community. IDGC has partnered with Indy Parks since 1989, and has helped the parks department fund, install, and maintain the City's four disc golf courses. IDGC runs leagues throughout the year as well as numerous tournaments. Members are available to run or assist with events for any group or organization that would like to try disc golf.
