The Earth Discovery Center opened in fall of 2007, and offers field trips for schools, scouts, and other groups, family programs, summer daycamps, and more! In addition, the EDC is a great place to stop by and enjoy exhibits containing live, native reptiles, amphibians, and fish, natural history information about native wildlife, displays of insects and plants, a backyard habitat area and seasonal displays, several nearby hiking trails, as well as a beautiful deck with a view of Eagle Creek Reservoir.
Every Saturday and Sunday at 1:30pm, the EDC offers a free informal family nature program - the topic varies with season, but could be an outdoor hike, an up close look at some of our exhibit animals, scooping in the pond for bugs and tadpoles, or a simple craft or activity. On Sundays we generally feed the turtles, frogs, and other exhibit animals.
