Description
This 5.24 acre park is nestled between Wheeler Boys & Girls Clubs and the Blackburn Terrace Housing Apartments, and is accessible via the apartment complex.

Formerly named Salem Village Park, Beckwith Memorial was dedicated in 1970 on behalf of Indianapolis native Frank R. Beckwith, who had been the first African-American in the country to run for President in a Presidential primary, in 1960 against Richard M. Nixon. Beckwith was an attorney and civil rights advocate as well.
