DescriptionStay for the day at Eagle Creek, one of the largest municipal parks in the United States! If the almost 1,400 acres of water don't entice you, the 3,900+ acres of dry land activities will. J.K. Lilly (Eli Lilly & Company) owned the land and gave it to Purdue University in the late 1950's. The University later sold the land to the city of Indianapolis. An earthen dam was built to control flooding and the result is Eagle Creek Reservoir as we know it today. Come sailing, windsurfing, or bird watching, and you will forget you are only 10 minutes from the downtown area of the 12th largest city in the country.
