Description
Acquired in 1971, this 41-acre park is named for Mr. Juan Solomon, a local civic leader and former member of the Board of Parks and Recreation.  Mr. Solomon was extremely influential in Indianapolis' African-American community, leading activities in the local Urban League chapter and on the Mayor's Task Force for Unemployment.

The park is host to the Summer Supervised Play Program, youth and adult soccer leagues, and is a site for the National Junior Tennis League's (NJTL) summer youth instruction program.

Juan Solomon Park is featured as one of the Indy Parks named for influential African-Americans who have contributed to the betterment of Indianapolis and of American society as a whole.
