Description
Willard Park recently underwent a $500,000 renovation with thanks to an Urban Parks and Recreation Recovery Grant (UPARR) and the Indianapolis Park Foundation.

This 11-acre park now offers amenities for the entire family!  With park benches under shade trees, a large picnic shelter, new soccer field, and renovated pool, Willard Park is the epitome of what an urban park ought to be!

The park is named for William Willard, who founded the Indiana School for the Deaf on this site in 1850. Willard was both principal and teacher at the school, which remained here until 1911.
