The animals at IACC are cared for by Senior Animal Care Technicians, three Kennel Supervisors, a Rescue Coordinator, a full-time Adoption Counselor,two part-time Adoption Counelors, a Temperament Tester and Staff Veterinarian. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Cleaning and sanitization of all kennels and cages
  • Feeding of animals
  • Vaccination and medication of animals
  • Microchipping animals
  • Receiving all surrendered animals
  • Euthanasia
  • Customer service
  • Temperament testing candidates for adoption

The shelter, located at 2600 S. Harding St., consists of four dog kennels, three cat rooms, a medical screening area, an animal intake area, a receiving area used primarily by our Animal Control Officers, and a barn area for livestock.
