The 13 Senior Animal Care Technicians, 3 Kennel Supervisors, a Rescue Coordinator, a full-time Adoption Counselor and 2 part-time Adoption Counelors, a Temperament Tester and Staff Veterinarian at IACC are responsible for the general care of the animals at the shelter. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • The cleaning and sanitization of all kennels and cages
  • The feeding of animals
  • The vaccination and medication of animals
  • Microchipping animals
  • Receiving all surrendered animals
  • Euthanasia
  • Customer service, and
  • Temperament testing candidates for adoption

The shelter, located at 2600 S. Harding Street, consists of 4 dog kennels, 3 cat rooms, a medical screening area, an animal intake area, a receiving area used primarily by our Animal Control Officers, and a barn area for livestock.
