INDIANAPOLIS – Indianapolis Animal Care & Control is partnering with the Indiana Fever for Adopt-A-Pet Night when the Cleveland Rockers come to town on Saturday, August 9, at 7:00 p.m.
Approximately 25 dogs and cats from the shelter will be on display and available for adoption on the Main Concourse of Conseco Fieldhouse before and during the game. Fans may adopt their new pet for $45 which includes the spay/neuter procedure, first round of vaccinations, heartworm or feline leukemia test, preventive flea treatment and a microchip. Fans will then be able to take their pet home immediately following the game.
Adoptive families will also have an opportunity to take a post-game photo with their new pet and Coach Nell Fortner.
Fortner, the owner of three dogs, helped create the Fever promotion and endorses the fans’ opportunity to provide these pets a home. “I love my dogs, and it’s great that the Fever can help promote pet adoption. Pets are great for kids and families, and this is an activity that I’m excited to support. I look forward to meeting the fans and their new pets after the game!”
Shelter Administrator Jim Garrard also shares in the excitement, “It is wonderful to see so many members of the Indianapolis community looking for ways in which they can personally contribute to the initiatives of Indianapolis Animal Care & Control. Partnerships such as this one with the Indiana Fever are essential to our success.”
As part of the Adopt-A-Pet Night promotion, the Fever is also conducting a Pet Picture Contest whereby fans can mail a funny photo of their pet, along with a $16 entry fee, and have a chance to win two front row tickets to a future Fever game, two $45 tickets to a 2003-04 Pacers game, and a $100 gift certificate to a local pet store. $2 of each entry fee will be donated to Indianapolis Animal Care & Control.
