Come and "Party with the Pets!"


INDIANAPOLIS – Indianapolis Animal Care & Control is gearing up for its 2nd annual open house, "Party with the Pets."

WHEN:   11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Saturday, September 13
   
WHERE:   Indianapolis Animal Care & Control
2600 S. Harding St.

The purpose of the event is to raise awareness of the city shelter, including its location and services the division offers, as well as promote the adoption of hundreds of wonderful dogs and cats.

The inaugural "Party with the Pets" was a tremendous success. Approximately 200-300 people were in attendance and the event generated 37 adoptions and over $1000 in donations. An even larger crowd is expected this year.

This free, fun family event will include:

  • Lawn concert with musical performance by Jennie DeVoe and opening act by Ann McWilliams;
  • Canine demonstrations and kids Frisbee™ toss with the Indy Dog & Disc Club;
    Clown with face painting and balloon animals;
  • Moonwalk;
  • Door prizes;
  • Facility tours;
  • Animal welfare and education information; and
  • Much more!

Indianapolis Animal Care & Control is a city agency dedicated to working in partnership with the community to promote and protect the health, safety and welfare of the people and pets in Indianapolis.
