This station was formerly Washington Township FD Station # 225. On January 1, 2007 the Washington Township FD merged with the Indianapolis Fire Department and this station became Indianapolis FD Station # 8. Currently, Engine # 8 and Car # 1108 (Safety Officer's vehicle) respond from here.
