Indianapolis Area Flooding Deployment

On January 14, 2005, Indiana Task Force One supported the Washington Township Fire Department of Indianapolis on the recent flooding. INTF1 was asked to deploy our Military Style six-wheel drive support truck. This vehicle is a mid-1970's M65 Troup Transporter. The vehicle is able to drive through 5 feet of standing water. INTF1 deployed the vehicle with one driver and support member. The vehicle proved to be invaluable as it was able to drive through the water. The vehicle was used to remove six people stranded in their home.  More to follow.

World Trade Center Response

Indiana Task Force - 1 responded to the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001.

INTF-1 held a mock deployment in November 2003. The team deployed to a simulated tornado event that struck the lower portion of Marion County. Our assignment was to investigate and mitigate the reported structural collapse at the Broken Burr Apartments.

Many firefighters from around the nation are familiar with this apartment complex as it was the site of many FDIC drills. Countless Marion County firefighters trained at the complex prior to its demolition. INTF-1 was given permission from the City of Indianapolis to use the property during the demolition phase.

Recently, our Incident Support Team Members got a workout. They were deployed to the Republican National Convention, then Hurricane Charley, Frances, Ivan, and Jeanne.
