IFS will start performing scheduled Preventive Maintenance (PM), Safety Checks, and associated brake and tire work at the Riverside facility starting on Monday, December 4, 2006 for vehicles presently maintained by MCSD. "Walk-in" or unscheduled work will continue to be done at the MCSD Garage through the end of 2006.
Deputies and others presently serviced by the MCSD Garage can call IFS at 327-2756 between 7:30 AM and 3:30 PM to schedule a PM. PMs can be scheduled a month in advance and generally take 30 minutes. PM hours available are from 7:00 AM to 10:30 PM.
Starting December 4th, two MCSD Technicians (one first shift and one second shift) will work at IFS for the remainder of the year. Other MCSD Technicians will rotate to the IFS facility during December 2006. IFS Technicians will also work on PMs.
Labor charges for MCSD vehicles will be initially waived as the MCSD Technicians will offset any labor charges. This will be reviewed weekly for the remainder of 2006.
Parts, to include tires, received from the MCSD Garage will not be charged to MCSD vehicles for work performed; however, IFS parts will be charged.
During the initial visit, all vehicle data will be checked by the Service Writer/Foreman to ensure data is properly recorded in the M4/M5 Maintenance Management System and bar code markings will be applied to all vehicles. Repair Orders will be opened and closed similar to existing IFS repair orders.
Individuals requiring "pool vehicles" will be directed to IPD Fleet Management, also located at Riverside. The telephone number is 327-5383.
The IFS Riverside facility is located at 1651 West 30th Street. The telephone number is 327-2756.
Additional information will be distributed in December 2006 concerning other procedures and services to start at the Riverside and Belmont facilities in January 2007.
