INDIANAPOLIS – In celebration of America Recycles Day, the City of Indianapolis, in partnership with the Mass Ave. Merchants Association, Keep Indianapolis Beautiful, Inc. and Schmidt Associates, will make an announcement on Saturday, November 15, at 1 p.m. regarding pedestrian recycling along Massachusetts Avenue, one of the city’s six cultural districts.

WHEN:          Saturday, Nov. 15, 2008, 1 p.m.

WHERE:       Davlan Park, located in the northeast corner of Alabama Street and Massachusetts Avenue downtown. In the event of rain, the press conference will be held inside the Davlan Building, located at 430 Massachusetts Avenue.

VISUALS:     Office of Sustainability Director Kären Haley, Mass Ave. Merchants Association Co-Leader Kristin Kohn, Keep Indianapolis Beautiful, Inc. President David Forsell and Schmidt Associates Landscape Architect Craig Flandermeyer will discuss the installation and benefits of ten new pedestrian recycling bins along Massachusetts Avenue. Representatives from the neighborhood and the environmental community have been invited, along with the City-County Councillors and the Board of Public Works.
