Georgia Street ​Utility Work Schedule
Week of 12/20/10

Veolia is complete with their relocation work on Georgia St.
Citizens Thermal is complete with their relocation work on Georgia St.
MCI is complete with the relocation work on Georgia St. that was scheduled prior to construction.  Remaining work to be done in conjunction with contractor’s construction work.

IPL’s remaining work includes:
• Pulling secondary cable in ducts along Georgia St.
• Splicing of primary and secondary cable in the manholes along Georgia St. 
• Switching from old to new services will start after the first of the year.
• Tentative completion date of late January 2011.

Brighthouse’s remaining work includes:
 
• Continue pulling cable and splicing. There will be some night work to pull cable.
 
AT&T’s remaining work includes:
 
• Complete tie-in on south side of Georgia between Scioto and Pennsylvania. 
  • • Place 45’ of duct line in center lane of Pennsylvania St. 
  • • Continue pulling cable and splicing.
  • • Tentative completion date of mid January 2011.
  • TW Telecom is working in conjunction with AT&T.
 
Citizens Gas’ remaining work includes:
• 8” main relocation at Illinois and Georgia.  
• Cross Capitol just north of Georgia for a 2” service line to St. John’s Church.
• Tentative completion date of mid January 2011.
 
NOTE: 
• There may be work in the Georgia Street corridor on Saturday, December 18th.  This will be noisy.
• A property owner meeting is being scheduled prior to construction to update the adjacent business owners and tenants about the project’s existing status and future construction plans.  Mailed invitations are expected to be sent out by early next week.
 
Week of 12/13/10

  • Excavate a short trench in front of Nordstrom along Georgia St. to tie into an existing manhole.
Brighthouse’s remaining work includes:
  • Redirect conduits from manholes located west of Scioto on the south side of Georgia.
  • Continue pulling cable and splicing.   There will be some night work of the cable pulling.
 
AT&T’s remaining work includes:
  • Excavate and place new conduit from the northwest corner of Georgia and Illinois, across Illinois along the north side of Georgia, to tie-in at Circle Center Mall.
  • Complete conduit placement and tie-in by St. John’s Church at Georgia and Capitol.
  • Complete tie-in on south side of Georgia between Scioto and Pennsylvania. 
  • Place 45’ of duct line in center lane of Pennsylvania St. 
  • Continue pulling cable and splicing.
TW Telecom is working in conjunction with AT&T.
 
Citizens Gas’ remaining work includes:
  • Complete replacement of 8” valve and encapsulation of couplings at the southwest corner of Georgia and Meridian.  Hope to be complete by Friday, Dec. 10th.
  • 8” main relocation on southwest corner of Illinois and Georgia.  Hope to begin on Monday, Dec. 13th.
  • Cross Capitol just north of Georgia for a 2” service line to St. John’s Church.
Week of 12/6/10
 
Veolia plans to do the following:
      • Done with relocations.  Minor clean-up progressing.
 
Brighthouse plans to do the following:
      • Pulling cable between Meridian St. and Pennsylvania St.   There will be some night work of the cable pulling.
 
IPL plans to do the following:
      • Splicing of cable will occur in the manholes along Georgia St.  They will excavate a short trench in front of Nordstrom along Georgia St. to tie into an existing manhole.
 
AT&T plans to do the following:
      • Finish crossing at Illinois St.’s southwest corner.  Complete tie-in on south side of Georgia between Scioto and Pennsylvania.  Place 45’ of duct line in center lane of Pennsylvania St. 
 
TW Telecom is working in conjunction with AT & T.
 
Citizens Thermal is complete with their relocation work on Georgia St.
 
Citizens Gas plans to do the following:
      • From Meridian St. to Illinois St. on the south side of Georgia St. they will jack hammer and use a vacuum truck to excavate for small test holes to determine the depth of their existing gas line. 
      • This work will happen on 12/6/10 and should be completed and backfilled the same day. This work will be noisy. 
      • They will then move to the south side of Georgia St. between Meridian and Illinois St. to check depths of their main.  Again this will be done by a vac truck and it will be noisy.
      • Once this is accomplished they will move to Capitol Ave., crossing Capitol just north of Georgia St. for a 2” service line to St. John’s Church.
 
MCI has pulled their casting at McCrea St. and Georgia St.
 
Week of 11/29/10
 
Veolia plans to do the following:
•  Water shut-off scheduled for Tuesday evening starting at 10:00 p.m. (11/23/10) until 7:00 a.m.
(11/24/10).  All affected businesses by the shut off will have been notified by Veolia Water.
•  Veolia will be replacing a hydrant at the corner of Capitol Ave. and Georgia St. and will take 2 to 3 days to complete.  They will start this work on Monday (11/29/10).
•  Veolia will be cleaning their work zone between Capitol Avenue and Illinois St. the first of the week.
 
Brighthouse plans to do the following:
Pulling cable all of next week into the new duct banks.  Some of the work will be performed in the evening hours.
 
IPL plans to do the following:
•  Excavate for service line on the north side of Georgia St. just east of the Mall Moon Parking garage.  This work will take most of the week.
•  Cable pulling crew has work on-going between Capitol Ave. and Pennsylvania St.
•  Splicing crew has work on-going between Capitol Ave. and Pennsylvania St.
 
AT&T plans to do the following:
•  Currently working on installing conduit across Meridian Street on the south side of Georgia.  This work should be done by tomorrow (11/24/10) or first of next week.
•  Crew may start work at Illinois St. & Georgia St., crossing Illinois St. on the north and south side of Georgia St.
 
TW Telecom is working in conjunction with AT & T.

Citizens Gas plans to do the following:
•  From Meridian St. to Pennsylvania St. on the south side of Georgia St. will be complete by tomorrow, 11/24/10.

Week of 11/22/10
 
Veolia plans to perform the following:
• Upon completing the valve replacement and fire hydrant relocation work on Georgia from Capitol and Illinois, cleanup of area will begin.   
• Outage planned for Friday, November 19th, has been cancelled.  It has been rescheduled for Tuesday, November 23rd from approximately 10pm until 7am the following morning.  Veolia is responsible for contacting any property owners affected by this outage at least 48 hours in advance.
IPL plans to perform the following:
• Continue to reroute service on the north side of Georgia between Illinois and Meridian.
• Continue to patch manholes along Georgia.
• Cable crews will be pulling and splicing cables throughout the rest of the year.
 
AT&T plans to perform the following:
• Tie in conduit to manhole on the north side of Georgia at Capitol (dependent on Veolia’s completion of work at this location)
• Complete crossing of conduit at Georgia and Illinois (dependent on IPL’s completion of work at this location)
 
TW Telecom and Brighthouse are working in conjunction with AT&T. 
 
Citizens Thermal plans to perform the following:
• No work planned along Georgia Street. 
 
Citizens Gas plans to perform the following:
• Work on the south side of Georgia Street between Illinois Street to Meridian Street. The Vac Truck will spot our existing gas main to check depth to determine how much of the pipe needs to be lowered.  We are saw cutting pavement to keep noise levels down whenever possible.
MCI plans to perform the following:
• Remaining work will be done in conjunction with the Georgia Street Improvements project construction to begin in early January.
NOTE:  Utilities stated that none of their crews plan to work Thanksgiving, November 25th or the following Friday.  Crews will start work again on Monday, November 29th.

Week of 11/15/10
 
Veolia plans to perform the following:
• Water valve replacements and a fire hydrant relocation will occur between Capitol and Illinois.  
• Outage planned for Friday, November 19th.  Approximate time for outage is 2am until 5am.  Veolia is
responsible for contacting any property owners affected by this outage at least 48 hours in advance. 
 
Brighthouse plans to perform the following:
• Continue work in conjunction with AT&T.
• Continue work between Capitol and Illinois in front of Saint John’s Church. 
• Splice cable placed from pedestal at Kilroys east across Scioto to manhole on north side of Georgia. 
 
IPL plans to perform the following:
• Reroute service on the north side of Georgia between Illinois and Meridian.
• Patch manholes along Georgia.
• Cable crews will be pulling and splicing cables throughout the rest of the year.
 
AT&T plans to perform the following:
• Continue laying conduit on north side of Georgia crossing Illinois.
• Lay duct across Meridian on the south side of Georgia.

Citizens Thermal plans to perform the following:
• Georgia and Meridian (southwest corner) – new excavation for a steam leak repair. Tentative completion date of November 19th.
• Georgia and Illinois (southwest corner) – sealing manhole wall.  Tentative start date of November 12th.
Citizens Gas plans to perform the following:
• Working on north side of Georgia between Pennsylvania and Meridian.  Crews will install a 4” gas main.  Main is planned to tie-in at Pennsylvania Street and dead end prior to Scioto Street due to other utilities in Scioto Street.
 
MCI plans to perform the following:
• Pull casting in front of McCrea south of Georgia.
 
Week of 11/08/10
 
Veolia plans to perform the following:
• Water main cut and plug and valve replacement on the west side of Capitol at Georgia.  
• Outage planned for November 4th tentatively moved to Wednesday, November 10th.  Approximate time for outage is 3am until 5am.  Veolia is responsible for contacting any property owners affected by this outage at least 48 hours in advance.  Work related to outage will be take place at McCrea and is likely to be noisy.
• No anticipated night work this week (excluding Wednesday outage).
 
Brighthouse plans to perform the following:
• Continue work in conjunction with AT&T.
• Complete duct tie-in to existing vault located in alley east of Saint John’s Church. 
• Coax cable will be placed from pedestal at Kilroys east across Scioto to manhole on north side of Georgia. 
• Triplex cables will be placed along Scioto.
• Cable spicing to occur at night.
 
IPL plans to perform the following:
• Materials and equipment removed from Georgia by close of business Monday.
• Cable crews will be pulling and splicing cables for next several weeks.
• No anticipated night work this week.
 
AT&T plans to perform the following:
• Continue laying conduit on north side of Georgia crossing Illinois.
• Lay duct across Meridian on the south side of Georgia.
• No anticipated night work this week.
TW Telecom working in conjunction with AT&T. 
Citizens Thermal plans to perform the following:
• Maryland & Meridian – Manhole repair is ongoing and expected to continue through the next two weeks.  Tentative completion date of November 12th.
• Southwest Corner of Georgia & Illinois – Excavation required to repair leak at manhole.  Manhole will be patched and filled with flowable fill.  Tentative start date of November 15th.
• No anticipated night work this week.
 
Citizens Gas plans to perform the following:
• New main will be placed along Louisiana from tie-in at Georgia west to dead-end.  Tentative start date of November 9th.
• Main work on south side of Georgia between Illinois and Meridian.  Tentative start date of November 15th.
• No anticipated night work this week.
 
MCI plans to perform the following:
• Work at manhole in front of McCrea.  Plan to pull casting and fill with flowable fill.  Tentative start date of November 15th.
 
Week of 11/01/10
 
Veolia plans to perform the following:
• Water main, fire hydrant, and valve work between Capitol Ave. and McCrea St.  
• A planned outage will take place on Thursday, November 4th.  Approximate time for outage is midnight, Nov. 4th to 8am Nov. 5th.  Veolia is responsible for contacting any property owners affected by this outage at least 48 hours in advance.  Work related to outage is likely to be noisy.
 
• No anticipated night work this week (excluding Thursday outage).
 
Brighthouse plans to perform the following:
• Continue work in conjunction with AT&T.
• Continue pavement cutting and placing of duct from manhole at PanAm north across Georgia to in front of Saint John’s Church.  From there contractor will continue east to east side of alley and tie into existing vault. 
• Coax cable will be placed from pedestal at Kilroys east across Scioto to manhole on north side of Georgia. 
• Triplex cables will be placed along Scioto.
• No anticipated night work this week.
 
IPL plans to perform the following:
• Replace roofs in manholes at Scioto and at the Mall garage.
• Patch manholes and install pull ropes.
• Demobilize.  Materials and equipment moving to Virginia Ave.
• Cable crews will be pulling cables as ducts are available to them.
• No anticipated night work this week.
 
AT&T plans to perform the following:
• Working between Capitol and Illinois laying conduit primarily on north side of Georgia.
• No anticipated night work this week.
 
TW Telecom also working in conjunction with AT&T. 
 
Citizens Thermal plans to perform the following:
• Work along Georgia complete.
• Maryland & Meridian (intersection) –Manhole repair is ongoing and expected to continue through the next two weeks.  Tentative completion date of November 12th.
• Meridian South of Georgia – Excavation at this site is ongoing and a portion of the steam main will be replaced on Wednesday, October 20th.  The excavation will be extended to the north to access additional pipe for replacement.  Tentative completion date of November 12th.
• No anticipated night work this week.
 
Citizens Gas plans to perform the following:
• No work planned this week.
 
MCI plans to perform the following:
• Working at manhole in front of McCrea.  Plan to pull casting and fill with flowable fill. 
 
NOTE:  All utilities have been informed that Georgia from Pennsylvania to Scioto needs to be cleared of equipment and materials and any ongoing construction plated from midnight Friday, October 29th to midnight Saturday, October 30th for an outdoor concert event.  Pennsylvania at Georgia shall also be cleared and plated in preparation for this event.
 
Week of 10/25/10
 
-Veolia plans to perform the following:
• There will be two crews working on Georgia Street between Scioto Street and McCrea Street. 
• An planned outage will take place on Thursday, October 28th.  Veolia is responsible for contacting any property owners affected by this outage at least 48 hours in advance.  Work related to outage is likely to be loud.
• No anticipated night work this week.
 
-Brighthouse plans to perform the following:
• Continue work in conjunction with AT&T.
• Place conduit on the north side of Georgia in front of the Saint John’s Church. 
• No anticipated night work this week.
 
-IPL plans to perform the following:
• Rebuild manhole in front of Hooters.
• Replace roofs in manholes at Scioto and at the Mall garage.
• Complete ductbank on south side of Georgia across Pennsylvania to new manhole.
• Complete ductbank across Georgia west of Meridian.
• Complete ductbank across Georgia in Illinois.
• Patch manholes and install pull ropes.
• Demobilize.
• Cable crews will be pulling cables as ducts are available to them.
• No anticipated night work this week.
 
-AT&T plans to perform the following:
• Cross Georgia Street in front of PanAm (north to south) with conduit.
• Place conduit on the north side of Georgia in front of the Saint John’s Church. 
• Place conduit on south side of Georgia across Illinois Street (joint work with IPL).
• No anticipated night work this week.
 
-TW Telecom will be working in conjunction with AT&T. 
 
-Citizens Thermal plans to perform the following:
• Georgia & Meridian (southwest corner) – The piping and 8” valve were replaced during the outage on October 17th.  Plan to have jobsite completed and closed up by Friday, October 22nd.
• Georgia & Meridian (southeast corner/intersection) – The steam pipe and 8” valve were replaced during the outage on October 17th.  Plan to have jobsite completed and closed up by Friday, October 22nd.
• Georgia & Illinois (southwest corner) – The SRV vent line, 6” SRV, 6” valve, and associated piping were installed on October 17th.  Plan to have jobsite completed and closed up by Friday, October 22nd.
• Maryland & Meridian (intersection) – The 16” valves, 6” valve, and associated piping were installed on October 17th.  Manhole repair is ongoing and expected to continue through the next two weeks. 
• Meridian South of Georgia – Excavation at this site is ongoing and a portion of the steam main will be replaced on Wednesday, October 20th.  The excavation will be extended to access additional pipe for replacement.  This job is scheduled to be completed by Friday, October 29th. 
• No anticipated night work this week.
 
-Citizens Gas plans to perform the following:
• No work planned until the beginning of November.
 
NOTE:  All utilities have been instructed that no work is to occur on the north/south streets (Pennsylvania, Meridian, Illinois, and Capitol) before 9am on Monday, October 25th.  They have also been instructed that no work is to occur on Georgia between Pennsylvania and Meridian before 10am on Monday, October 25th. 
 
Week of 10/18/10
 
-Veolia plans to perform the following:
 
• No work planned for the week of 10/18/10.
• Plan to work between Meridian and Illinois the week of 10/25/10. 
 All material and equipment will be moved out of the northern portion of Georgia by Monday, October 18th in preparation for FFA. 
 
-Brighthouse: Did not attend utility coordination meeting.  Schedule requested.
 
-IPL plans to perform the following:
 
• Complete manhole at SW corner of Meridian.
• Complete manhole at NE corner of Pennsylvania.
 
• Start manhole at SW corner of Pennsylvania.
 
• Continue duct bank in south lane of center block.
 
• Start duct bank in south lane of east block.
 
• Depending on Citizens Thermal’s schedule, run duct bank across Illinois to manhole.
 
• Depending on Citizens Thermal’s schedule, run duct bank across Meridian to manhole.
 
• Continue pulling cable as duct banks are completed.
All material and equipment will be moved out of the northern portion of Georgia by the end of the day Friday in preparation for FFA.
 
-AT&T plans to perform the following:
 
• Place conduit along the curb on the south side of Georgia between Meridian and Illinois.  (Oct 11th-Oct 15th)
 
• Place new manhole in sidewalk on south side of Georgia Street by PanAm plaza. (Oct 18th-Oct 22nd)
All material and equipment will be moved out of the northern portion of Georgia by the end of the day Friday in preparation for FFA.
 
-TW Telecom plans to work in conjunction with AT&T on the south side of Georgia. 
 
-Citizens Thermal plans to perform the following:
 
• Georgia & Meridian (southwest corner) – Excavation will  to expose the steam main and remove the manhole roof.  The construction  at this site was delayed due to IPL work at same location.  The steam piping and valve will be replaced on Sunday, October 17th.  Planned to start construction on Thursday, Oct 14th.
 
• Georgia & Meridian (south east corner/intersection) – This repair requires excavation to remove the manhole roof for pipe & valve replacement.  The steam piping and valve will be replaced on Sunday, October 17th.  Planned to start construction on Thursday, Oct 14th and complete by Friday, Oct 22nd.
 
• Georgia & Illinois (southwest corner) – This repair requires excavation to remove the manhole roof, repair the east manhole wall, and to install a SRV (safety relief valve) vent line.  The installation of the SRV vent line is 75% complete and will need backfilled when installation is complete.  THE SRV vent line will be tied into the existing steam system on Sunday, Oct 17th.  Started construction on October 7th.
 
• Maryland & Meridian (intersection) – This site has been excavated and the roof has been removed.  Fabrication of the piping and valves are in progress and will be installed on Sunday, Oct 17th.  After the valves are installed the manhole walls will be repaired.  Started construction on Oct 6th.
 
• Meridian south of Georgia – Excavation at this site is ongoing and the pipe is on schedule to be replaced the week of Oct 18th.  Started construction on Oct 6th.
 
• Note - Citizens Thermal has scheduled a steam outage for Sunday, October 17th at 11:30 am to make the necessary repairs at the above locations.  Our steam outage will require 12–16 hours of work to complete the piping and equipment upgrades/repairs.  The only extended hours projected at this time is for the steam outage on October 17th.  However, if unexpected issues arise working extended hours to meet the outage date may be necessary.
 
-Citizens Gas plans to perform the following:
 
• Unplanned repair at McCrea due to infrastructure damage caused by other utility construction.
 
• No work planned until the beginning of November.
 
Week of 10/11/10
 
-Veolia Water will have two construction crews between Pennsylvania and Meridian.
 
-Brighthouse will be wrapping up construction between Pennsylvania and Meridian and moving their operation west between Meridian and Illinois.
 
-IPL plans to perform the following:
 
• Complete work on manhole at SW corner of Meridian and Georgia.
 
• Start manhole in Pennsylvania, south of Georgia.
 
• Run duct bank in Illinois, from north of Georgia to the south lanes of Georgia.
 
• Complete duct bank between Illinois and McCrea on north side of Georgia and repair manhole.
 
• Pull cables from west to east on north side of Georgia.
 
• By the end of the week, all material and equipment is planned to be moved to the south side of Georgia. 
The north sidewalk and curb lane will be cleaned in preparation for the FFA.
 
-AT&T will be completing the placement of conduit and manholes between Pennsylvania and Meridian.  Excavation and placement of conduit will begin along the south curb line of Georgia, from Illinois east to Meridian.  By end of the week, surfaces will be restored and all material and equipment will be moved to south side of Georgia in preparation for the FFA. 
 
 
-Citizens Thermal plans to perform the following:
 
• Georgia & Meridian (southwest corner) – This repair requires excavation to remove the manhole roof, excavate 10 feet north & 10 feet east of the manhole for pipe & valve replacement – Start Date October 12th
 
• Georgia & Meridian (south east corner/intersection) – This repair requires excavation to remove the manhole roof for pipe & valve replacement – Start Date October 14th
 
• Georgia & Illinois (southwest corner) – This repair requires excavation to remove the manhole roof, repair the east manhole wall, and to install a SRV (safety relief valve) vent line – Start Date October 7th
 
• Maryland & Meridian (intersection) – This repair requires excavation to remove the manhole roof, repair the manhole wall, excavation around the steam mains on all four sides of the manhole for pipe & valve replacement – Start Date October 4th
 
• Meridian south of Georgia - This repair requires excavation to replace 25’ of 8” steam main – Start Date October 6th
 
• Note - Citizens Thermal has scheduled a steam outage for Sunday, October 17th at 11:30 am to make the necessary repairs at the above locations.  Our steam outage will require 12–16 hours of work to complete the piping and equipment upgrades/repairs.  The only extended hours projected at this time is for the steam outage on October 17th.  However, if unexpected issues arise working extended hours to meet the outage date may be necessary.
 
Week of 10/4/10
 
-Veolia Water will start construction on Georgia on Oct. 4th with valve replacements. 
 
-Brighthouse’s contractor, K & M Thompson, will be working between Scioto and Meridian.
 
-IPL plans to perform the following:
 
• Complete duct bank on north side of Georgia between Meridian and Scioto.
 
• Bore on north side of Georgia between Illinois and McCrea to complete duct bank.
 
• Build new manhole at the SW corner of Meridian and Georgia. 
 
• Run duct bank in Illinois from new manhole on north side of Georgia to south side of Georgia.
 
• Start pulling cable from west to east on north side of Georgia’s west block.
 
-AT&T is currently working between Pennsylvania and Meridian and should be complete with this section of construction by Oct. 8th with the exception of a manhole roof replacement in Scioto.  Work crossing Meridian could begin as early as Oct. 6th and will continue west along the south side of Georgia to Illinois.
 
-Citizens Thermal plans to excavate between Georgia & Meridian (southwest corner) in order to remove an existing manhole roof and perform pipe and valve replacement.  Excavation will occur 10 feet north & 10 feet east of the existing manhole.
 
Week of 9/27/10

9/23-9/30:   Duct bank work crossing Meridian St. on the north side and continuing to the east along Illinois St.
 
9/23-9/27:   Duct bank work heading south from in front of Harry and Izzy’s to south lane of Georgia.  Place roof on manhole.
 
9/23-9/30:   Build manhole at southeast corner of McCrea St. and Georgia St.
 
9/27-9/30:   Bore in north lane of Harry & Izzy’s to the east to an existing manhole.
 
AT&T
 
10/27-11/1:   Work on both the north and south side of Georgia St. between Meridian St. and Pennsylvania St. to include: setting a manhole in the entrance to the parking lot east of the Harness Factory Lofts while maintaining access to the parking lot, excavating for new facilities along the south curb line of Georgia St. west across Meridian St. to Illinois St. (Wednesday or Thursday), and possibly replacing the roof on a manhole in Scioto St. north of Georgia St.  Work on Scioto manhole will require access to be closed temporarily.
