Indy Alley Cleanup Program

Did you know that the City of Indianapolis has a crew dedicated to cleaning up our City's alleys? DPW employees supervise and work in tandem with community service workers to help maintain and enhance the infrastructure throughout the city. The general scope of duties include removing graffiti, trash, and illegal dumping debris, along with performing vegetation control.

In 2006 the program cleaned over 43 miles of the almost 400 miles of alleys in the City, removing nearly 400 tons of brush and debris. You can help keep our City looking its best by pitching in to maintain the alley's new look after our crews have completed their work.

If you would like to request an alley cleanup, please contact the Mayor's Action Center online, or call (317) 327-4MAC for assistance.
