The Indianapolis Department of Public Works works for all residents to make sure that all programs and services are accessible to persons with disabilities. Our goal is to create a culture that makes the public aware of all individuals' needs in our city. By building measures that allow access to everyone, we become a more holistic, inclusive Indy.

JESSE MILLER was born and raised in Tipp City, Ohio before eventually receiving his degree from Marian University in 2008, where he studied Art History and French. His love for the city has kept him in Indianapolis and his connection to disability affairs began at age 5, when his father became disabled. Being able to assist the disability community in a place he now calls home is something he hopes to continue as the Office’s Disability Affairs Coordinator.

You can contact Jesse directly via email at or at 317-327-5591.

DUSTIN GILMER was born and raised in Indianapolis. He graduated from Ball State University with a B.A.  in journalism and telecommunications. As a person with a disability, Dustin continues to look for opportunities to help educate the community on what it means to live with a disability. In his spare time, Dustin loves watching sports and supporting his hometown teams.

You can contact Dustin via email at or at 317-327-5654.
