Sewer Services
The Department of Public Works Customer Service team helps determine when city sewers are blocked, where sewers are located, and how to get rid of sewer odors. Residents in need of these services should contact the Mayor's Action Center (MAC) at 327-4MAC. A township coordinator will conduct an inspection and contact the resident who made the request.
Sewer Billing & Rates
DPW classifies sewer rates into two categories, non-industrial users and industrial users.
For non-industrial users—residential, retail, apartment complexes, etc—the sewer bill is based upon the volume of water consumed by the person or entity being billed, plus a base sewer charge and any allowable taxes.
Non-industrial user rate
For industrial users—mostly manufacturers who use water in the process of their production and/or discharge water and sewage into the city sewer system--due to the fact that the discharge may contain BOD, TSS, and NH3 volumes that exceed allowable units, some industrial users may pay a surcharge depending on laboratory results of samples obtained from their discharge.
