Litter Control

Have you ever walked down a sidewalk or through your neighborhood and noticed all the litter and trash? If every person would pick up one piece of waste from a street side or the parks, our community would sparkle just a little more. Having a clean, tidy neighborhood and city creates a safer environment and fosters a sense of pride to those that live here.

Every spring, the City of Indianapolis and Keep Indianapolis Beautiful, Inc. join together to support
The Great American Clean Up. In this one day event, residents hit the streets to pick up all the litter and trash that clutters our beautiful city.

The City challenges you as an Indianapolis resident to keep the litter off of the streets. Next time you see a beverage container or empty chip bag on the streets, pick it up and put it in the trash or recycling container.

The Great Indy Cleanup is a program designed to combat heavy litter and debris that has accumulated in public streets, alleys, greenspaces and waterways. The Great Indy Cleanup  is Saturday, October 20, 2012.
