Within 7 days of receiving a citation, you must either pay or appeal the citation.

CONTESTING YOUR CITATION

Request to Review

If you believe your citation fits within one of the following categories, you may submit a Request to Review a Parking Citation to the City Prosecutor's Office within 30 days of your citation date.  If your citation does not fit one of the listed categories, your Request to Review Parking Citation will be denied.  The Request to Review Parking Citation is appropriate in the following situations:

  1. The meter or pay box was malfunctioning and did not accept payment.
  2. The meter or pay box was paid for at the time the citation was issued.
  3. The citation is a duplicate.
  4. A valid placard or plate was displayed and the vehicle was parked appropriately.
  5. The vehicle description on the citation does not match the plate number on the citation.
  6. Vehicle or plate was stolen at the time when the citation was issued.
  7. The named individual on the citation is deceased.

Denial

If your citation does not fit into one of the previous categories and you would still like to contest your citation, please fill out the Citation Appeal form in person within 7 days of your citation date at the address below:
