The Reuben Engagement Center provides a safe space for people experiencing homelessness but unable to enter an emergency shelter due to active substance abuse or a mental health diagnosis. This first of its kind facility in Indianapolis is staffed by medical personnel who collaborate with private and not-for-profit agencies, as well as healthcare providers, to deliver immediate non-emergency care and wraparound services for those at the Center.
The Center’s efforts are intended to divert people from the criminal justice system and avoid temporary healthcare solutions, while providing resources to aid in the long-term rehabilitation and support of these Indianapolis residents.
