MAP of District 24
Jack Sandlin is the District 24 Councillor for the Indianapolis City-County Council. Born in Indianapolis, Jack is a life long Hoosier.
Jack has been involved in public service in some aspect for all of his adult life. Jack started working at the Indianapolis Police Department after graduation from high school, took a brief break to serve in the United States Army, and then returned to be appointed as an Indianapolis Police Officer.
During his police career Jack worked in a variety of areas, including being assigned to a Federal Drug Task Force and the Marion County Grand Jury. At the Grand Jury he supervised investigators in conducting public corruption and complex white collar crime investigations. Jack retired as Deputy Chief of Investigations for the department.
Following his police career with Indianapolis Jack worked as a law firm administrator at the law firm of Harrison & Moberly. He then started his own business, which is now in its 16th year. The business involves Fraud Examination, Private Investigation and Security Consulting. Jack’s work focuses on fraud and white collar investigations. He also spent another 14 years working with the Southport Police Department, developing and mentoring young officers.
Jack also served two terms as Perry Township Trustee. For those eight years he never raised the property tax rate and became known for his fiscal responsibility. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for Perry Senior Services and the Indiana Association of TRIADS.
Jack has earned an Associate’s Degree in Criminal Justice; a Bachelor Degree in Business; and a Masters in Business Administration. He also holds designations as a Certified Fraud Examiner and Certified Fraud Specialist.
Through his broad experience in business, government and public safety Jack maintains a goal of efficient, effective and responsible government while representing District 24 on the Indianapolis City-County Council.
