Monroe Gray, Jr., a division chief for the Indianapolis Fire Department, is serving his sixth term on the City-County Council. As a longtime member of the Council, he has a great respect for the role of the Council in the community and the need for Council members to sometimes rise above purely political considerations to do what is best for the citizens of this great city. His main goal is to continue the progress and good work the Council has done on behalf of the citizens and to keep this a growing, economically stable, and viable world class city. Gray serves as a member of many local organizations, such as the Flanner House Board, United Northwest Area Board, Purdue Cooperative Extension Board, 100 Black Men, Versatile Eleven Club, AIA Board, and Tillman H. Harpole Post #249. He is the administrator for the Senator Glenn Howard Junior Golf Tournament.
Gray currently serves as a member of the Parks and Recreation and Rules and Public Policy Committees . He is married with two children.
