Indianapolis - Councillor Rozelle Boyd has called a special meeting of the Rules and Public Policy Committee to take public testimony on dog violence.

WHEN: Wednesday, June 14, 2006

5:30 p.m.

WHERE: City County Building, Room 260

200 E. Washington St.

The major purpose and objective of this hearing is to provide an opportunity for dialogue, discussion and general input concerning dog violence.

Chairman Boyd said, "People are very passionate about their animals and I wanted to make sure the community had an opportunity to share with us their thoughts on the current challenge we are facing with the growing number of individuals that are being attacked by dogs."

Each person desiring to speak on the issue will need to sign up to testify before the meeting starts. The administrator of Indianapolis Animal Care and Control and the chief executive officer of the Humane Society of Indianapolis will also give testimony.
