President Gray said, "Thanks to the quick response of DPW, drivers were on the streets pre-salting before the snow began to fall. By the time the snow began to hit the roadways, DPW had 82 snow plows and 25 trash trucks, with snowblades attached, on the street. Although it was difficult to keep up with the constant snow and sleet that fell yesterday, I cannot imagine how impassable our main streets would still be without those employees working so hard.
Merchants and building owners also deserve special thanks for keeping their sidewalks clear of snow and ice. Residents were able to safely work and shop around downtown and the rest of the city".
