For Immediate Release:
Marion County Auditor and Marion County Assessor Announce New Sales Disclosure Tool.
The Marion County Auditor recently certified the on-line sales disclosure filing program operated by the Indiana Department of Local Government Finance (DLGF) in accordance with INDPLS. CODE § 135-225(b). Beginning November 1, 2008, all sales disclosure forms filed in Marion County must be created using the DLGF on-line program, then printed for signatures from a buyer and a seller, then presented to the county assessor for approval. After October 31, 2008, the existing program operated by Meridian S.E.T., LLC, and available at www.salesdisclosure.com, will no longer be accepted.
One major effect of this change is to eliminate the additional $10 charged by Meridian S.E.T., LLC. Over 27,000 sales disclosure forms are filed in Marion County each year. The new tool will also give the DLGF “real time” access to the data collected by Marion County.
Persons required to file sales disclosure forms can access the DLGF program at http://www.stats.indiana.edu/SDF/. More information about the process is available from the DLGF at http://www.in.gov/dlgf/6748.htm, or from the Marion County Assessor at www.indygov.org/assessor.
