Sales Disclosures

Sales disclosures filed in Marion County after November 1, 2008 are required to be completed using the State of Indiana's on-line tool.

Sales Disclosures are necessary for most transactions involving deeds.

Please make sure the Deed and the Sales Disclosure are completely filled out and notarized as required. The Assessor's office is unable to assist in the preparation of Deeds. Please consult an attorney or title company if you need assistance.

Deed Recordation Procedure

  1. Sales Disclosure and Deed must first be stamped by the County Assessor's Office (City-County Building Room 1360) Please be prepared to pay the transfer fee and the sales disclosure fee. The Assessor's office accepts cash, checks made out for the exact amount due, and credit cards. Please be aware there is a small additional fee when using a credit card.
  2. The Stamped Deed must then be taken to the County Recorder's Office (City-County Building Room 741)  Please be prepared to pay the recordation fee.
