**EXTENSIONS WILL NOT BE GRANTED**
Pursuant to Ind. Code § 6-1.1-3-7 (b), a county assessor MAY grant an extension of not more than thirty (30) days to file the taxpayer’s return. For 2010, the Marion County Assessor’s Office has decided not to grant ANY extensions.
In order to meet State deadlines, Business Personal Property returns must be postmarked on or before May 17th in 2010. Penalties are applied on returns not filed by this date.
The State requires the North American Industry Classification System Code (NAICS) and Employer Identification Number (EIN) on personal property forms. If you do not have an EIN, the last four (4) digits of your Social Security Number (SSN) can be used in the following format XXX-XX-1234
To ensure your return is timely filed and considered complete, please note the following:
1. As a business owner, it is your responsibility to notify our office of any changes.
2. Incomplete returns will be penalized.
3. The Signature of an authorized person is required.
4. Any adjustments from previous years must be supported in writing.
