Homestead Verification Forms
Taxpayers, who are currently receiving a homestead deduction, must file a Homestead verification form to certify residency and eligibility for the deduction. If you did not return the form by April 30, 2010, please do so as soon as possible. Failure to file by the third notice will result in losing the deduction.
The information gathered will be used to populate a secured homestead database which will be used by all county auditors to track homesteads statewide and prevent fraud. This will help reduce taxes for all by ensuring that everyone shares equally in the property tax burden.
If the property is no longer your primary residence, please file the certified statement within 60 days of change.
