Listed below are four columns pertaining to the Sheriff's Sales for 2013. The first column is the Clerk's Cut-Off Date. This is the last date to praecipe for the corresponding sale. The second column is the Clerk's Issue Date, which is the date that the Marion County Clerk will deliver to the Sheriff's office the decrees for property to be sold on the corresponding Sheriff's Sale Date (fourth column). The third column is to assist you as to when the advertising is to begin in the Court & Commercial Record publication. You can plan to have notices in the Sheriff's office the week before the publication date. This office will contact all attorneys and advise them of their Sheriff's File Number to be inserted on the Notice of Sale. All sales will be held in Room 260 of the City-County Building except as indicated.
All forms must be Marion County Sheriff's Department format. Blank forms are available online or in their office.
Advertising costs, user fees and Sheriff's fees are due by the date of each sale. Property taxes paid through the Sheriff's Sale are due by the date of each sale. Deeds and Clerk's returns are due on the Friday after each sale. Attorneys representing mortgage companies are expected to prepare deeds and clerk returns for the third party purchasers.
The Sheriff's Sale date and advertising dates are the significant dates. Approximately three weeks prior to the Sheriff's Sale date, a listing of properties scheduled for that sale will be available at www.indygov.biz. Printed lists may be obtained by calling (317) 327-2452.
