Indianapolis—Marion County Clerk Elizabeth L. White welcomed Marion County voters as they began to cast some of the first ballots of the Municipal primary election. April 9
th marks the first day a voter may vote an absentee ballot before an absentee voter board in the office of the County Clerk. Voters casting an absentee ballot in the Clerk’s Office do not need to provide a reason.
“I welcome those who wish to vote early in the Municipal primary to the Clerk’s Office,” White said, “and I encourage all voters to consider early voting for their convenience. This method of voting can be a good solution for many voters.”
Early voting will be available week days from 8AM to 5PM through Friday, May 4, 2007, and Monday, May 7 from 8AM to noon. Voters with questions should call the Marion County Clerk’s Office at (317) 327-4740 or the Marion County Election Board at (317) 327-5100.
“Every time a voter engages our electoral process for the first time, or in a new way, it brings a new vitality to our democracy,” White added.
