Community Education Outreach
One of the goals of the Marion County Coroner’s Office is the provision of educational opportunities for the community. A key goal of community education is youth education. Deputy Coroners conduct a Community Education Outreach drug and alcohol awareness program upon request for local schools and community groups.
Our Deputies are trained and certified in death investigation. Continuing education is required to develop social aspects and cultural competancies related to death and dying. Chief Deputy Ballew provides education to schools and community organizations for and about violence and crime prevention, along with useful information related to the careers of Coroners in the real world. Informative, intresting and thought provoking educational programs are presented.
Any groups interested in such programs should contact the Marion County Coroner’s Office at 327-4744.
