Many of the specialized programs the Department offers rely heavily on the use of volunteers to operate effectively.
The following are just some of the areas the Department has utilized volunteers:
- Tutoring literacy level students in the Education Services Program
- Assisting with refreshments during ceremonies which recognize the achievements of probationers in special programs
- Mentoring at-risk youth through the Youth Empowerment Program
- Assisting students develop computer skills in the Learning Resource Center
