Educating Kids About Gun Violence (EKG)

The Marion County Prosecutor’s Office and Eskenazi Health, in conjunction with Indiana Project Safe Neighborhoods, proudly presents Educating Kids about Gun Violence (EKG).

Presented by a representative from the Marion County Prosecutor's Office and a medical professional from Eskenazi Health, EKG is a one hour education and prevention program that works to prevent gun violence among youth by educating students about the legal, medical, and emotional consequences of gun possession and related gun violence. It also helps encourage young people to consider options and choices available to them in situations involving guns.

Included in the presentation are discussions on statistics of gun use in America, the long-term emotional and physical consequences of being injured by gunfire, and the legal realities juveniles face when committing gun related crimes.

Presentations are available at no cost to any school or other youth-serving organization in Marion County.

For more information or to schedule a presentation, please contact MCPO@indy.gov or (317) 327-3522.
