Southwest District officers provide uniformed field patrol and investigative services to the southwest are of Indianapolis. (See .pdf map) With its headquarters building at 551 N. King Avenue, the District is staffed with approximately 190 sworn and 10 civilian employees and is under the direction of Commander Lloyd Crowe.  The District covers about 80.8 square miles with a 2000 population estimate of 117,835.
