Established in 2009, Northamptonshire County is Indianapolis’s Sister City in the UK. Indianapolis and Northamptonshire County both have earned reputations as leaders in the motorsports industry, and their establishment as sister cities will create lasting economic, social, and cultural linkages with the sports valley area of England. More specifically this relationship will tie Indianapolis into partnerships with UK based motorsport companies including manufacturing, retail, research, race shops, promotions, and so on.

Northamptonshire County is a landlocked county in the South Midlands region of the UK. There are several towns in the county, with Northampton being the largest and most populous. The region of Northamptonshire, Oxfordshire and the South Midlands has been described as a Motorsports Valley; a global hub for the motor sport industry. Northamptonshire County boasts world-class race tracks including Silverstone Circuit and Rockingham Motor Speedway.
