Each July, in celebration of the anniversary of the signing of the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Indianapolis Mayor's Advisory Council on Disability hosts an awards ceremony to recognize individuals, businesses, and organizations that have demonstrated a commitment to universal access and inclusion. Local organizations also participate on this day, and host information booths about resources available to persons with disabilities and their families. The 2014 Access and Inclusion Awards commemorated the 24th anniversary of the signing of the ADA. The winners of the 2014 awards are:

Exceptional City Service Award - Indianapolis Department of Public Works Solid Waste Team
James Pauley Lifetime Service Award - Melody Cooper
