The Clerk's Office accepts payments until  4:30PM in the City-County Building, and accepts bond payments 24 hours per day in room W123 in the City-County Building.​​​

Holiday Hours

The Marion County Clerk's Office will close on Monday, October 9, 2017 in observance of Columbus Day. We will reopen for normal business hours on Tuesday, October 10, 2017. You can also view a complete listing of our 2017 Holiday Schedule [60.5 KB, PDF].

Office Changes & Updates in 2017

The following changes are effective September 25, 2017:
  • Bond payments are made in room W123, located in the finance department of the Clerk's Office, and can be made 24 hours a day, 7 days per week.
  • Ordinance violations (OV case types) are filed in room W122, located in the Clerk's main office on the first floor of the City-County Building.
  • Protective orders are filed in room W123, located in the finance department of the Clerk's Office, located on the first floor of the City-County Building.
 
The following changes are effective July 1, 2017:
Fee Changes:  
  • Mortgage Foreclosure Fee:  This fee is no longer applicable as of July 1. 
  • DNA Sample Fee:  This fee increases from $2 to $3. 
  • Automated Recordkeeping Fee:  This fee increases from $19 to $20. 
  • Sheriff Service Fee:  This fee increases from $25 to $28 effective July 1st and the Clerk receives $1 of this fee.  This fee is now statutorily required to be collected by the Clerk. 

    • We have created a Miscellaneous Fee for Sheriff Service Fee – Out of State.  The Clerk is now required to collect the fee for Sheriff Service -- Out of State. This fee is $60.

Court Changes:  

  • Will Contest Cases:  State Court Administration has created a PL case type in the Probate category for these Will Contests. State Court Administration has also updated the Probate Case Filing Fees to include these cases.
  • Bond Forfeiture Process:  The Bond Forfeiture process changed to forfeit bonds not earlier than 120 days or later than 365 days after the defendant's failure to appear on a bond executed through cash or securities and deposited with the clerk.  

Office Changes & Updates in 2015

Court Costs and Fees by Case Type

Effective May 6, 2015, the $50 Mortgage Foreclosure Counseling and Education Fee is reinstated on cases filed to foreclose on a mortgage. The filing fee on a Mortgage Foreclosure suit, therefore, is $241.

Effective June 1, 2015, traffic violations will be processed by the Clerk's Office. Traffic violations staff will become Clerk's Office employees.

Effective June 1, 2015, the Clerk's Office will accept and process all bond payments at the Arrestee Processing Center (APC).

Effective July 1, 2015, the jurisdictional limit for damages in Small Claims Court cases will increase to $8,000 from $6,000.

Effective July 1, 2015, the Sheriff Service Fee increases from $13 to $25.

Effective July 1, 2015, there will be an additional Post-Judgment Sheriff Service Fee of $25. The Sheriff can collect the fee one time per case, post-judgment.

Effective July 1, 2015, the Automated Record-Keeping Fee will increase from $7 to $19.

Effective July 1, 2015, the Document Storage Fee will increase from $2 to $5.

Certified Mail Service. Changes to Indiana law made an impact on how the Clerk's Office charges for certified mail service to multiple addresses per party. Learn more here.
